No shame for Enckelman

Cardiff goalkeeper Peter Enckelman says he will not be losing any sleep over his near post howler which enabled Portsmouth to win the FA Cup.
The Finn was unable to hold on to John Utaka’s cross and Kanu punished his mistake with the winning goal in the 37th minute at Wembley.
“It’s not going to be hounding me,” Enckelman said.
“Conditions were wet first half, there was a bit of rain.
“I am not going to make excuses but it was a new ball, I should probably have dealt with it better but on another day it might have bounced somewhere else and the defender clears it.”
Enckelman, who is on loan from Blackburn, performed his greatest gaff during his days at Aston Villa when he somehow allowed Olof Mellberg’s throw-in to roll under his foot to gift Birmingham a goal during their stormy encounter six years ago.
“Everybody probably remembers me for the throw-in incident,” added the Finn.
“At that time it did shake me but this time it didn’t affect me.
“I probably should have done better but it’s gone now, it’s nothing to worry about.”
