Carlos clinches France move
by Tom Adams, 20 June 2008
According to reports in France, Carlos Bocanegra has joined Rennes after being released by Fulham.
The United States international was shown the door by Roy Hodgson this summer after spending four years at Craven Cottage.
L’Equipe now reports that Rennes have snapped up the 29-year-old on a three-year deal, despite PSV Eindhoven also being linked with a possible move.
Bocanegra made 105 starts for Fulham in The Premier League and will now continue his career in France’s Ligue 1.
His move to Stade de la Route de Lorient paves the way for Djimi Traore to return to Portsmouth after the expiration of his loan spell.
Meanwhile, Rennes are also expected to confirm the signing of Lorient’s Oscar Ewolo.
