Antunes: Celtic target

Vitorino Antunes is considering an offer from Celtic, despite rival interest from Chievo and Bologna.

The Roma left back is on Gordon Strachan's wanted list but the Portuguese player is in demand elsewhere.

Amaro Valente, the 21-year-old's agent, told Roma News: "Chievo and Bologna want Gabriel [Atunes' middle name] and also Celtic made us an interesting proposal which we are considering.

"We will soon find out from [sports director Daniel] Prade whether the player is in Roma's plans this season or if he will be sent on loan to a team that can afford to play him regularly.

"We will see developments on this situation in the coming days."

Roma's Matteo Brighi is also a target for the SPL champions, who kick off their new campaign live on Setanta Sports against St Mirren.

Neverland - 04 July 2008 09:30: Yes he's played for Roma. He made his debut in the league in 2007/08 and played a full 64 minutes in total. Ok, from that we can deduce that he isn't "top drawer". However at 21 he may prove to be very useful. I mean, I would rather have reasonable full backs and wonderful strikers or midfielders than the other way round. So Rangers fans, let's just wait and see how he performs, eh? As for him taking a step backwards, playing a few games would be a positive move!! Now that's that point sorted, let's talk about KYLE LAFFERTY, clearly some Celtic fans haven't been doing their homework properly. This guy has played as a striker for N Ireland, but as a WINGER for Burnley. That fact changes how you look at his strike rate (or it should to any relatively "knowledgeable" people - My guess is some Celtic fans won't get it).; Report this to a moderator

Robbie Keane is a very good footballer but worth £20million i'm not sure. £18million for Barry and £12million for Alonso!! Jesus is it just me or does EVERYONE else see that as terrible business??
