Hughes knows what went wrong
by Brian Etherson, 20 August 2008

Hughes has pinpointed what went wrong on Saturday

Falkirk manager John Hughes knows exactly where his side went wrong in their 3-2 defeat against Hibernian last Saturday.

The Bairns conceded goals at crucial times in the game which ultimately led to their demise, and now Hughes is ready to take appropriate action in order to sort the problem.

“I know the reasons, I’m not going to go and make them public,” said Hughes. “That will remain in the dressing room.

“I will need to speak to one or two, but as a team in general, we need to roll the sleeves up, get back to basics, regroup and say ‘right we’re not a good side’.

“But we’re going to work hard to be a good side.

“I’m not going to be too hard on my boys because they’re a wonderful bunch and I’m hoping I’ve got a dressing room that can get together and do it for themselves and say ‘right let's get back to basics’.”

Who should be Arsenal captain?

Setanta readers' comment of the day

“While all big teams (Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool) were busy protecting their best players, Arsenal was in forefront encouraging injury prone Walcott to participate in that useless freindly. Arsenal has a very thin squad and I remember Walcott said it but Wenger didn't take action to add some players. Arsenal players are not made of steel and Wenger should be prepared for such situation. We need Arsenal supporters on the board of Arsenal who can feel the way we feel when the team is losing and they can force Wenger to buy some experience players. Current board members are only interested in profits yet they (profits) don't go into history of the club”
