Crosas will return says Gudjohnsen
by Gordon Pope, 12 October 2008

Crosas has been a success in Glasgow

Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen believes that Marc Crosas will be a star, and reminded Celtic fans that he expects to see him back in the Camp Nou.

Crosas arrived in Glasgow in the summer, but the Catalan giants have a buy-back clause to sign the 20-year-old back.

The clauses are popular in Spanish football, and Gudjohnsen wants to be reunited with Crosas.

“Barcelona inserted clauses into Marc’s contract so they can buy him back and that is understandable,” Gudjohnsen told the Sunday Mail.

“When a player grows up with a club and you don’t see him developing in the near future you might want to let him go with an option to re-sign him.

“Marc trained with us for parts of last year and was on our pre-season tour so he’s a player I know well and have a lot of admiration for.

“He’s a lovely boy and a good footballer - a defensive midfielder with the ability to get forward.

“He was on loan at Lyon last season and is definitely one for the future but he’ll need time to adapt to the Scottish game.”

He continued: “The fact that Barcelona were willing to let Marc go doesn’t make him a bad player.

“Eto’o was allowed to leave Real Madrid at a young age and look at him now. Players’ careers develop in a different way and Marc had taken a great step forward.

“I’m sure he will be an excellent signing for Celtic.”

Who was England's best player?

Setanta readers' comment of the day

“While all big teams (Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool) were busy protecting their best players, Arsenal was in forefront encouraging injury prone Walcott to participate in that useless freindly. Arsenal has a very thin squad and I remember Walcott said it but Wenger didn't take action to add some players. Arsenal players are not made of steel and Wenger should be prepared for such situation. We need Arsenal supporters on the board of Arsenal who can feel the way we feel when the team is losing and they can force Wenger to buy some experience players. Current board members are only interested in profits yet they (profits) don't go into history of the club”
