Harry Redknapp has confirmed the departure of Sulley Muntari to Inter, and the African’s move will be used to fund Shaun Wright-Phillips’ switch to Portsmouth.
Redknapp is always wary of spending too much of his owner’s money, and he knew he had to sell in order to spend following the capture of Peter Crouch.
Wright-Phillips would cost £10 million to lure him from Chelsea, and Redknapp will waste no time making that move as soon as Muntari is gone. (Daily Star)
Kevin Keegan's desperate search for new players has led him to Deportivo La Coruna centre back Fabricio Coloccini.
Keegan is desperate for a centre back, and is ready to launch an £8 million move for the no-nonsense defender. (Independent)
North East rivals Sunderland are also planning to raid Europe for Marseilles full back Ismaila Taiwo.
Taiwo would cost £7 million, and Roy Keane plans to sell Dickson Etuhu to Rangers to raise part of the cash. (Telegraph)
Paul Robinson will complete a £3.5 million move to Blackburn on Friday, after a breakthrough was finally made in negotiations with Tottenham.
